Sharing a Read-Only Link
Send a customer a read-only link to a marked-up plan, with no account needed. Shows the plan and markup, never your install photos. Enable or revoke anytime.
How to create one
Open the markup in the editor and click the Share button in the toolbar. FieldMarkup generates a unique link with a long, unguessable token. Copy it and send it however you like: text, email, whatever.
The same button lets you turn sharing back off (see Revoking a link below).
What the recipient sees (and doesn't)
The shared view shows the plan and its markup: devices, labels, FOV cones, status rings, shapes, and text. On a phone, the link opens as a clean flattened PDF so it pinch-zooms and saves to Files naturally.
What a share link never exposes:
- Your install photos. Field photos pinned to devices are closeout evidence. They only leave when you export a PDF yourself, never through a public link.
- Cost data. The bill of materials, unit costs, labor, and margin are owner-only and never appear on a share link.
- Editing. The view is strictly read-only; the recipient can't move a device or change a status.
Revoking a link
Click Share again and turn the link off. The old link stops working immediately. Anyone who tries it gets a "not found" page. Turn sharing back on and a fresh link is generated. This is how you cut off access after a job closes or if a link gets forwarded somewhere you didn't intend.
