My name is Troy. I have spent the last 15 years in low-voltage and security, first as a tech in the field, then as a project manager running multi-site rollouts, then as a district install manager overseeing a team of internal technicians. I have installed and managed every part of the trade: burg, access control, CCTV, fire alarm, and more.

I started this product because of my full-time career as a PM for a national integrator. I do a lot of site surveys, and to be honest I was tired of the clunkiness of Adobe. I needed to be able to mark notes on my iPad in the field, then come back to the office and turn them into text-box callouts. Adobe was slow and took too many steps.

So I set out to build a floorplan editor where I could add text in one step on both the iPad and the desktop, and edit from either one in real time if I needed to. Since that first version we have added full floorplan markup with device icons (including custom icons), system types, field tools like Quick Count, Rapid Place, and status circles for devices on flattened PDFs. We also built device install status that auto-syncs across the device drawer and the device matrix, a bill of materials, a device matrix for an at-a-glance look at where the project stands, easy PDF exports for your customers, and a bunch of other tools. All of it built around pain points I saw as a tech, PM, and district install manager.

The pattern across every one of those roles was the same. The work itself was fine. The tools we used to plan, document, and hand off the work were not built for what we actually did. Bluebeam was made for general contractors counting rebar. The cheap PDF apps were made for lawyers. So we built a tool for the people placing cameras and card readers on a floor plan.
