Counting Devices and Naming by Room

Two review tools: use Count to tally devices on a plan with a running total, and use Room to draw a box around devices and auto-name them by their room.

Overview

These are desk-review tools for checking and organizing a plan. Both are hidden on the phone viewer and on read-only shared links, since they are for the person building the estimate, not the field.

The Count tool

Count (keyboard shortcut C) is a tally helper. Turn it on, then click each device on the plan. Every click drops a colored checkmark and the count panel keeps a running total.

It is handy for double-checking a device count on a plan someone else drew, or on a flattened PDF you imported. The checkmarks are just for you, they never show up on a customer-facing export.

The Room tool

Room names a group of devices by their location in one step. Turn it on and drag a box around a set of devices, say every camera in the warehouse. Everything inside the box gets named by room, so a camera becomes Warehouse - C4 instead of just C4.

A faint colored fill shows while you drag so you can see what you are capturing. Click Room again to turn it off. This keeps device labels meaningful on big plans without renaming each one by hand.
