Keyboard Shortcuts

Complete list of keyboard shortcuts for the FieldMarkup editor. Tool switching, undo/redo, rapid placement, and navigation.

Opening the shortcut reference

Press ? (or /) at any time in the editor to open the keyboard shortcut overlay. You can also click the help button (question mark icon) in the toolbar.

Tool shortcuts

Press a single key to switch tools. These only work when you're not typing in a text box or input field.

VSelect, click to select, drag to move, marquee to multi-select
HPan, click and drag to scroll the floor plan
PPen, freehand drawing

TText, click to place a text callout, or drag to draw a text box
EEraser, click any annotation to remove it
CCount / tally, click to drop colored checkmarks for verifying device counts

Placing and editing

ShortcutAction
Hold ZRapid place, keeps the current tool active after each placement instead of reverting to Select. Release to go back to normal behavior.
Ctrl+Z / Cmd+ZUndo
Shift+Ctrl+Z / Shift+Cmd+ZRedo
Delete / BackspaceDelete selected annotation(s)
EscapeCancel current operation, deselect, close help overlay, or cancel an in-progress NAC loop or wall chain
EnterFinish an open wall chain (while drawing walls on a blank canvas)

Touch and tablet

On iPad and touch devices, you don't need a keyboard. All tools are accessible from the toolbar buttons. Two-finger pinch zooms and pans the floor plan regardless of which tool is active. The Rapid place toggle in the toolbar replaces the Hold Z shortcut for touch users.
